From the Acting Head of Senior School

World Teachers’ Day (31 October) is a special opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding dedication and professionalism of our teachers. Each day, they inspire curiosity, nurture potential, and guide our students toward success, both within and beyond the classroom. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every teacher for their ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and for the positive difference they make in the lives of our students.

Upcoming Examinations: Weeks 5 and 6

As we approach the Semester 2 examination period, we remind families that Year 11 examinations will commence next week (Week 5), followed by Year 7-10 examinations in Week 6. This is an important time for students to demonstrate their learning and apply the skills they have developed throughout the semester.

Students and parents are encouraged to make use of the Study Skills Handbook, which provides valuable advice on effective study routines, revision strategies, and exam preparation. The handbook can be accessed through the Student Services and Parent Services pages on Astra, or by following this link: https://studyskillshandbook.com.au/inside/index.php

A reminder that Study Leave applications are required for all students in Years 9 to 11. If your child did not take study leave in Semester 1 and wishes to do so for the Semester 2 exams, please submit an application via Astra.

  • Year 10 students who have study leave can use this during their exam week (Monday-Friday).
  • Year 9 students are eligible for study leave during their examination period only (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). Regular classes will run on Monday and Tuesday, and leave will not be granted for these days.
  • Year 7 and 8 students will complete their examinations at school and do not receive study leave. Their exams will also run from Wednesday-Friday, with Monday and Tuesday being regular classes.

We wish all students every success in their upcoming examinations and thank our teachers once again for the guidance, encouragement, and expertise they provide every day.
