Our talented Junior School actors dazzled audiences last week with their vibrant and colourful performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. From colourful costumes to catchy show tunes, all of our young performers brought their characters to life and it was truly wonderful to see their hard work, teamwork and dedication shine on stage. A huge thank you to all of those in our community who attended the performances.

A special congratulations to our co-directors, Mrs Lucy Butler-Rees and Mrs Georgiana Rice, for their effort and dedication in directing such a wonderful show. We also wish to congratulate those who worked so hard behind the scenes - staff, students and parents - whose support helps to ensure these events become such a success.

Bravo to our wonderful cast!

We are excited to share a highlight reel below:

Last Friday, the Bendigo Tennis Centre hosted the 2025 Sandhurst Division Team Tennis Hot Shots event, featuring 24 teams and more than 190 students from across the region. It was a fantastic day of tennis, filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and great sportsmanship.

Girton was well represented with seven teams (60 students), and our players displayed impressive skill and commitment throughout the day. The level of energy and enjoyment on court was outstanding, with students supporting one another and competing in the right spirit.

We are thrilled to share that Girton teams achieved some outstanding results:

  • Division 1 Boys: Girton Grasshoppers – Undefeated Champions
    • Aayush Nair (6M Jenkin), Benjamin Carter (6M Jones), Ronny Epps (4D Millward), Reyansh Kulkarni (6M Frew), Mitchell Hawker (6D Frew), Will Scott (6D Frew), Samarth Kolli (6M Jones) and William Sandiford (4V Millward).

  • Division 1 Girls: Girton Gems – Undefeated Champions
    • Hasini Balraj (5V Riley), Isabella Wallace (5V Aherne), Grace Beattie (6M Jenkin), Zoe Ogunesyinde (6M Jones), Alexis Weekley (6H Frew), Piper Hooke (6H Riley), Rhea Sabari (5M Frew) and Annie Hulse (6D Jenkin).

  • Division 2 Mixed (Pool C): Girton Giants – Winners
    • William Jackson-Sloane (5D Aherne), Louis McIntyre (4M Riley), Charles Smith (6H Frew), Juho Kim (4M Riley), Ahaan Tadakamadla (5D Frew), Mitchell Picot (6H Jenkin) and Ava Vale (6D Jon.

Both the Grasshoppers and the Gems went on to represent Girton and the Sandhurst Division at the Loddon Mallee Regional Finals in Swan Hill on Thursday 30 October. We'll share more about that next time!

A big thank you to Mr Doherty, Mr Leske, Mr Turner, and Mr Hoyt and Steve Storer for their support and assistance throughout the day — your efforts helped make the event such a success. Congratulations to all students involved for their positive attitude, teamwork, and love of the game. It was a proud day for Girton Tennis.
