Speech Night 2025

As we prepare for our traditional end of year celebrations, please find below arrangements for Girton’s Speech Nights for this year. Speech Night is free of charge; however, tickets must be reserved online via GoTix to facilitate seating.
The Ulumbarra Theatre contains adequate seating for two guests per participating student for the Junior School and Years 7-9 event and four guests per participating student for the Years 10-12 event. You do not need to book a seat for your student as they will be allocated a seat with their peers. You are required to book seats for each of the Speech Nights you wish to attend separately, as each evening is treated as an individual event.
For families unable to attend, recordings of each Speech Night will be made available via the eLink in the week following the event.
Tickets can be secured via GoTix Tickets available from 8.30am on Tuesday 4 November, 2025
Junior School Years 3 to 6: Tuesday 2 December 6.00pm-7.15pm approx.
Senior School Years 7 to 9: Wednesday 3 December - 6.00pm-8.00pm approx.
Senior School Years 10 to 12: Thursday 4 December - 6.00pm-8.15pm approx.
All students from Years 3 to 11 are required to attend. However, students with exceptional circumstances can request permission to be absent. Applications must be submitted via the Exemption Request Form by Tuesday 25 November.
Please note that submission of this form does not guarantee approval of the exemption. All requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by Mr Marcus Smalley for Senior School students and Mr Don Thompson for Junior School students, with families notified in due course.
Parents and students from Prep to Year 2 are warmly invited to attend the Junior School Speech Night. Please note that students in these grades must sit with their parents, and there is a limit of 2 tickets per family. Parents of students in Prep to Year 2 who will be receiving a prize will be informed separately, and the award recipients will be seated upstairs.
We ask parents to please consider the needs of other families and attend the event they have booked. This will help avoid spare seats that other families would have gladly reserved.
If you need to cancel pre-purchased seats, please call the Capital Theatre Box office on 03 5434 6100.
