Theatre Excursion

The VCE Theatre Studies class recently attended the premiere of Stella: A New Australian Musical at the Monash Theatre. The production explores the life of Miles Franklin, tracing her journey through personal loss, financial hardship, entrenched sexism, and the upheaval of two world wars. Despite these challenges, Franklin emerges as a fiercely independent artist whose determination and commitment to her craft never wavered.

The students were fortunate to have  MGSC Theatre Studies alumna Isobel Long (Class of 2022) who was Stage Manager for the production, visit class following the  excursion. Isobel shared insights into the creative and production processes behind the show, providing valuable perspectives that will greatly assist with analysis and understanding of the performance.
