On a roll!
Arya Eaton (Year 7) competed at the 2026 Artistic Skating nationals over the holidays.
In a field of 11 Arya placed 2nd to take home the silver medal in Juvenile Solo Dance.
In Juvenile Freeskate she placed 3rd (bronze) out of six skaters and in Juvenile Freedance, Arya placed 5th out of 11. Arya also was a co-winner of the National Junior Future Star award. Congratulations on your success.
How's that!
Congratulations to Minnie Chamberlin (Year 8) who has been named in the School Sport Victoria Cricket Team. Minnie has also been selected in the Vic Metro U16 Emerging Players Squad.
Life Saving Royally
Two students competed in the National Royal Life Saving championships in Perth recently. Felicity McKenzie (Year 11) and Esmee Kerkhof (Year 8) achieved outstanding results representing Victoria. Victoria finished 3rd 🥉overall.
Felicity McKenzie was awarded Gold in CPR. The relay team she captain came third in the rescue medley and were awarded silver in Cerc which is a life simulation of a mass rescue. Esmee as a 13 year old competed in U16 CPR and finished 4th. Esmee was rescue captain of her CPR team. MGSC is in safe hands!
Jumping for Joy
Harriet competed for Victoria in the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Sydney over the school holidays. She and her partner achieved a Bronze medal for Victoria in Synchronised Trampolining level 6 and she achieved 12th in the individual female level 6 trampoline.
A Bronzed Sapphire
Year 11 student Madi Ryan has yet again shone on the basketball court on the world stage. The Under 17 Women's Basketball World Cup championshiops were held in Czechia in July. Madi captained the Sapphires to Bronze. A fantastic achievement for Australia. The first medal since 2018. This was followed up with the honour of being named an 'All-Star Five' a team selection across all athletes across all nations. An incredible achievement. Congratulations to Madi and the Sapphires!
Sailing to Success
Naomi Taylor (Year 9) recently travelled to Japan where she competed in the Tasar Sailing World Championships. Over a week, she competed in 11 sailing races. She finished in 25th place out of 117 competitors from around the world. Naomi will compete in the Australian National Sailing Championships later this year.
