Year 7 Training Band and Year 8 Junior Band Graduation Concerts

On Wednesday 3 December our Training Band had their Graduation Concert. Students performed six pieces as a band but also had to perform in small groups of 2-3 for the audience. In these small groups students had to pick a short piece and arrange it themselves using their musical creativity. The standard of playing of these young musicians was very impressive. Congratulations to Mr Peter Sharp and the Training Band. Next year these students will move up to Junior Band and will rehearse on Thursday afternoon 3.30pm to 4.45pm. 

The Junior Band Graduation Concert on Thursday was equally impressive. This concert also featured the whole band playing together but also show cased Year 8 students performing in extension ensembles that students can get involved in next year. Well done to all the students that performed and Ms Kim Starr for all her work with the band this year. Next year these students will move up to Intermediate Concert Band that rehearses on Tuesdays 3.30pm to 5.00pm. 

AMEB Exams 

Last week 14 our students completed their AMEB Music exams at Frankston High School. These exams require a lot of hard work from students on top of the work they are doing in their ensembles and lessons. Congratulations to the following students and their teachers:
