JUNIOR SCHOOL | 2026

Dear Years 7 and 8 Parents/Carers and Students
As we come to the end of a busy and productive period in the Junior School, I want to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing support and partnership. Our classrooms have been filled with positive energy, strong learning momentum, and a real sense of community. It has been wonderful to see students continuing to grow in confidence, build strong relationships, and show genuine enthusiasm for their learning.
I would also like to acknowledge the tremendous work across our Early Commencement Program, supporting our Year 7 students moving into Year 8. Thank you to all teachers and the Year 8 Leadership team, Ms Hannah Martin (Head of Year 8) and Coordinators Mr Will Whitelaw and Mrs Catherine Kyriakos who ensured a calm, structured and positive start to their 2026 learning programs. These transition experiences play a significant role in preparing students for success, and your efforts are deeply appreciated.
A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in the 2026 Year 7 Statewide Orientation Day, where we welcomed approximately 320 Year 7 students to our Junior School. The day ran smoothly and showcased the welcoming, organised and engaging culture we are so proud of. Special thanks to Ms Sam Cody (Head of Year 7), Ms Melody Westlake (Year 7 Coordinator), Ms Holly Quinn (Year 7 Coordinator) and Mrs Sharee Dew (Junior School Administration) for leading the coordination, and to all staff who facilitated sessions or supported logistics. We were also fortunate to have a group of enthusiastic 2025 Year 7 students join us as peer mentors; your leadership made a real difference to the experience of our incoming cohort.
Thank you also to Mrs Michelle Beirouti (Wellbeing Coordinator), Ms Heidi Dhiman (Inclusion Coordinator), Ms Holly Quinn, Ms Melody Westlake, Ms Sam Cody, and our Wellbeing and Inclusion teams for supporting our Early Orientation Days for a smaller group of 2026 Year 7 students. These additional sessions ensured that students who benefit from a more personalised transition felt confident, connected, and ready for the year ahead.
Middle School 2025
This year has been a fantastic one for our Middle School students. Our Year 9 and 10 students have shown remarkable growth, maturity, and pride in their school, embracing every opportunity to learn, connect with others, and challenge themselves to achieve their best.
I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to our exceptional Middle School Leadership Team for their unwavering commitment to student wellbeing, engagement, and learning. The 2025 team included: Ms Hannah Martin (Head of Year 10), Mr Mark Quiambao (Head of Year 9), Ms Victoria Stewart (Year 9 Coordinator), Mr William Whitelaw (Year 9 Coordinator), Ms Elizabeth Toovey (Year 10 Coordinator), Mrs Kathleen Spaull (Year 10 Coordinator) and Mrs Bianca Johnson (Middle School Administration). This team consistently went above and beyond to support our students academically and personally.
Memorable experiences such as Year 9 Discovery Week, Year 10 Work Experience, the Year 9 Cairns Camp, World Challenge, and a wide range of wellbeing, careers, camps, excursions, extracurricular activities, and assemblies provided rich opportunities for students to discover their interests, strengthen connections with peers, and confidently prepare for their transition into Senior School.
A special thank you to our Middle School Captains for their energy, collaboration, and commitment to their peers: Year 9 Captains: Xavier Andrew, Miro Doreleijers, Layla Hayes-Marsha, and Alannah Ireland and Year 10 Captains: Diti Gjorgjiev, Zain Bahar, Sophie Easterbrook, and Lil Wijeratne.
As we reflect on 2025, we can be proud of what our school community has accomplished. Our students have demonstrated what it means to live our vision, working together, showing courage and empathy, and striving for excellence in all they do. As we continue to build on this strong foundation, we look forward to an exciting future, one where every student is inspired to be their best, always.
