At Frankston High School we prioritise wellbeing for everyone, every day!
How to support Under 16 year olds following the social media ban
eSafety implements and enforces a number of methods with the aim of keeping online service providers accountable. The aim is also to provide greater transparency, prevent online risks and limit the impacts of online harm – especially for children. To support your child after a social media ban:
Show empathy
Explain the purpose of the ban, which aims to protect young people
Assist them find another form of entertainment
Discuss other ways they can connect with friends
Focus on the new opportunities for offline activities and digital safety, and continue to check in with open, calm conversations.
