Principals' Message

Mrs Michelle Rassias and Mr Beau Robertson

As we just pass the Winter Solstice, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year, it also signals that we are now halfway through the school year. It is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate all that has been achieved during another productive and rewarding term at Donvale Primary School.

Our Years 3–6 students enjoyed participating in their gymnastics program, while our successful Open Day and Open Afternoon proudly showcased the many things that make our school so special. We celebrated Education Support Day and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of our ES staff, shared the joy of reading through National Simultaneous Storytime, applauded our students who represented the school in the Public Speaking Competition, and enjoyed the assortment of books available to purchase at our Book Fair.

As reports are shared and Parent-Teacher Interviews take place, we also recognise the strong partnerships between home and school that support every child's growth and success. As our school song reminds us we are indeed "a small school with a big heart" and this term has been another wonderful example of our caring, connected and thriving community.

Farewell to Mr Kho

At the end of this term, tomorrow, we say farewell to our Mandarin teacher Mr Kho as he retires after eight years of dedicated service to our school.

Since joining our school in 2018, Mr Kho has made a significant contribution to our community. Through his passion and commitment, he has fostered in our students an appreciation of the Chinese language and culture and provided learning experiences that have enriched the education of many children.

On behalf of our students, staff and families, we thank Mr Kho for his dedication and service over the past eight and a halfyears and wish him every happiness, good health and fulfilment in his retirement.

Please fill in the parent survey (one per family). Your responses will help us improve communication, events, and opportunities for family engagement at our school.

This is the same survey that was displayed at the parent teacher interviews.

Finally have a wonderful winter break. We look forward to seeing our students back ready for Term 3 on Monday, 13 July.
