Our Year 10 students recently took part in the Night of Homelessness experience. While the weather was milder than expected, it was still cold enough to give students a realistic sense of discomfort. The evening began with a powerful presentation from Craig Schepis, encouraging reflection and gratitude. Students then rotated through a series of supervised activities designed to simulate the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. A highlight of the evening was the visit from the Ballarat Soup Bus, where students were served soup with the support of our Year 12 Student Council. This experience aimed to build empathy, awareness, and appreciation for the circumstances of others.
The GAT will be held on Tuesday, 16 June for all students studying a Unit 3–4 subject, including some Year 11 students and those in the VCE-VM pathway. While the GAT does not directly contribute to a study score, it plays an important role in ensuring fair and accurate VCE results. Students are encouraged to approach the day seriously and give their best effort. Students not required to sit the GAT will have a student-free day.
All Year 10 students will participate in Work Experience during Week 10. This is a compulsory and valuable opportunity for students to explore potential career pathways and gain insight into the workplace. Families are encouraged to support their sons in securing a suitable placement. Assistance is available through the Careers and Pathways Team if needed.
We wish all Year 10 and Year 11 students the very best as they prepare for their upcoming exams. This is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and to build valuable exam experience in preparation for Year 12.
