MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS

What a week for all the mums in our community.

Wednesday saw our extremely popular Mother's Day Breakfast, with 600 guests enjoying croissants, juice and plenty of other treats.

Friday was the bustling Mother's Day stall with our students demosntrating their savvy shopping skills and buying wonderful gifts to surprise mums on Sunday.

These events cannot happen with the leadership from our Parents and Friends, and the time, effort and energy of our volunteers.  From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you for all you have done this week to ensure the mums and special women in our community know they are loved and cared for.

Please enjoy these beautiful images of the mums and students in our community

We need your help!

We are planning to have a Family Working Bee  on Saturday 16 May.

The Working Bee will run from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. We have a variety of gardening jobs, painting jobs and construction jobs to complete. We will be building new Gabion walls around the Year 1 and 2 sandpit and along the front of the Year 4 and 5 classrooms on The Street. The baskets will need to be assembled and then filled with rock. If you are unable to help on Saturday the 16th of May, we welcome you to help out assembling the Gabion baskets for an hour on Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th May 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

If you are able to assist please sign up here.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

Our Year 6 students are busy preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, this Sunday, 17th May at St Patrick's Cathedral. Please keep them all in your prayers as they continue their faith journey.

Loving God,

We pray for the students in our school community who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Fill them with the gifts of the Holy Spirit so they may grow closer to You each day.  Guide their families, teachers and sponsors as they support them on this special journey.   May our whole community encourage them to live with love, hope and compassion.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Feast of the Ascension

This Thursday, 14th May is the Ascension of the Lord. This is the day Jesus ascended to Heaven, 40 days after his Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

After rising from the tomb on Easter Sunday, Jesus had just spent 40 days with his friends.  He was preparing them to continue his work. He wanted them to focus on what was important, sharing His love with others.

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would come to help them be brave, strong and faithful. He told them to go and tell people everywhere about Him.

Then, while they were watching, Jesus went up to Heaven. The disciples kept staring into the sky because they were amazed and probably a little confused and sad. Two angels appeared and told them not to just stand there looking up, because one day Jesus would come again.

This event teaches us that:

  • Jesus returned to Heaven to be with God.
  • The Holy Spirit helps us to follow Jesus.
  • We are called to share Jesus’ love with others.
  • Jesus is always with us and will come again one day.

Heavenly Father,
As we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus, help us to remember that Jesus is always with us, even though He returned to Heaven. Fill our hearts with joy, hope and courage to follow Him each day.
Send us the Holy Spirit to guide us in loving others, making good choices and sharing Your peace wherever we go.
May we continue the work of Jesus by being kind, caring and faithful members of our community.
Amen.
