Thriving in Year Three

It is interesting to think that students need to be taught to understand facial expressions, body language or sense of humour. These are essential skills that may not come naturally to them. Year 3 students have increasing social and emotional independence. Teamwork and cooperation are also skills that need to be taught.
In Wellbeing classes, students are learning about anger management using some examples from the “Inside Out” movie characters. They are also learning about teamwork and communication by playing some games that allow them freedom to discuss rules and solutions interdependently and independently, such as getting their team through a hula hoop without holding it and untangling themselves from a “human knot” of crossover hand holding.
Well done, Year 3 students!
