Terrific Times in Year Two

In Mathematics we have been learning about place value and how to compare numbers using greater than and less than symbols. We’ve been using the idea of a “crocodile mouth” to help us remember which way the symbol faces. The crocodile always opens towards the bigger number! You might like to practise this at home using 2 and 3 digit numbers.

We also had a fantastic excursion to Puffing Billy, which linked to our Inquiry unit about places and spaces. Students loved exploring the museum and dressing up as conductors while also learning about different places, their features and why they are important. You could continue this learning at home by chatting about what they saw and discovered on the day.
