Performing Arts

In Performing Arts, students have been exploring the many ways people around the world celebrate through music, dance and song.
Through listening, singing, movement and performance activities, students have discovered how cultural traditions help communities come together to mark important events, share stories and express joy.
Students have learned about celebrations including Diwali, Eid and Lunar New Year, exploring the music, dances and cultural traditions associated with each occasion. Through these experiences, students have developed an appreciation of how different communities celebrate while discovering the important role that music and dance play in bringing people together.
These learning experiences reflect our school values of inclusion and respect. As a proudly multicultural community, we celebrate the diverse cultural backgrounds of our students and families. Exploring different celebrations through the performing arts helps students develop empathy, understanding and appreciation for the rich traditions that make our community so vibrant.
It has been wonderful to see students enthusiastically participate in singing, dancing and music-making activities, sharing and embracing experiences with curiosity and respect as we continue our musical journey about global traditions.
