Le Français

Bonjour !
Foundation students have been learning a "comptine" about an "escargot".
They have traced, coloured and created a booklet about a snail that loves the rain.
Students have practised using correct pronunciation and actions for this fun song.
Grades 1 and 2 are learning vocabulary from a French children show Titounis, in a song about travelling around the world. They have practised the chorus and are working on the verse about "Australie" learning also about the Irwin Family and their love of Australian Animals.
Grades 3 and 4 are learning about their country of origin, flags, foods, sports and animals.
They are creating a bilingual poster recognising the wide range of cultures that we are so lucky to have in our wonderful country. Can you guess what these sentences mean in English?
Mon pays d'origine est l'Inde!
Mon pays d'origine est la Grece!
Mon pays d'origine est la Chine!
Grades 5 and 6 are learning about Francophone countries, that is countries that have French as an official language.
French is an official language in 29 sovereign countries and is used widely across more than 50 countries and territories worldwide.
To connect to their integrated studies topic Our Asian Neighbours, students in grade 5 and 6 have commenced exploration of countries such as Vanuatu, Nouvelle Caledonie and French Polynesia.
A la prochaine,
Madame Higgins
