Library Activities
The Library continues to be a popular hub during break times, with students enthusiastically engaging in a wide range of activities. From craft and activity boxes to board games, chess and jigsaws, there is truly something for everyone. Many students also enjoy using our WiFi for computer games — and, of course, spending time reading.
We take great pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and calm environment where students feel comfortable, supported and eager to spend their time.
Bookwise
Our Years 7 and 8 English Bookwise reading circles are now in full swing. The program is designed to create a supportive and engaging environment where students collaborate to foster a genuine love of reading, while also developing essential literacy skills. Our new shelving has further enhanced the space, allowing the books to be displayed more attractively and accessibly.
Frequent Borrower Cards
We have decided to continue our Frequent Borrower Cards in 2026 to reward our dedicated readers. It has been very encouraging to see so many students embracing our library collection this year. Like a coffee card, students are rewarded for the number of times they borrow.
Overdue books
Just a reminder that Library loans are for a 4-week period, after which students are required to either renew or return their books. Students receive automated reminder emails from our library system two days before the due date, and again on Day 3 and Day 14 once an item becomes overdue, with regular reminders continuing thereafter.
If books remain overdue for an extended period (several months), we begin contacting parents directly via Compass. While we do not charge overdue fines, items that are not returned after prolonged periods will incur a replacement fee. Parents/carers will receive two reminder notices before any charges are applied to their school account.
Academic Catch-up Club (ACC)
ACC is open to all students in Year 7-10 seeking academic support. It is aimed at helping students to achieve their full potential and is designed to aid students who need further assistance with their Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) or other essential coursework.
Students may voluntarily choose to attend ACC or may be ‘assigned’ to attend through their classroom teacher.
