你好 (nǐ hǎo), everyone!

What a busy term we are having! Here are some highlights of our Term 1 Mandarin:

Chinese Day 2026

Tuesday 31st March was Chinese Day at Blackburn Primary School. It was a wonderful day full of fun, learning and a vibrant celebration of Chinese culture. Laughter, delicious food and colourful student artwork made it a truly memorable occasion.

We sincerely thank all teachers and parent helpers for your hard work and organisation, which made the day a great success, and we also extend special thanks to our students for your enthusiasm and active participation, as your eagerness to explore Chinese culture brought great energy to the event.

A huge thank you also goes to our Language Captains Jude and Frank for helping with preparations and hosting the assembly. You did an excellent job! Your hard work and dedication are sincerely appreciated and do not go unnoticed.

We are also extremely grateful to Helena and Gerry from the Huynh family for their generous donation. They provided the ingredients for dumpling-making, giving our Year 6 students a valuable hands-on experience of preparing a traditional Chinese delicacy. Your kindness and support have made a real difference, and we sincerely appreciate it.

We are already looking forward to Chinese Day 2027, hoping for another amazing celebration of this rich and beautiful culture.
