I can't quite believe that we have reached the end of term 1 and celebrating Easter. A busy term with lots of great activities, including Cultural Festival, Chinese Day, Cross Country, Grade 6 camp and the appointment of our new Principal Mr Minetti. Lots to be grateful for and celebrate.
It's also a time of year when many families from different cultures celebrate religious occasions such as the end of Ramadan, Lent, Holy Week leading to Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Chatting with different people from our BPS community this fortnight I have heard lots of stories about celebrations over food, gatherings of friends and families and lots of fun.
With all that's going on in our world it can feel overwhelming, stressful, and hopeless. Financial pressures are really significant and things can feel out of our control as we try and juggle all the competing demands. As these school holidays rapidly approach, my sincere hope is that each of you can experience some peace, hope and joy, even if it's just in the little things.
I was recently reminded by a wise friend about being super busy or focusing only on the challenges can really rob us of all that is good. I was sitting in a foundation class this week and watched as one of the teachers helped the kids calm down. She said lets stop, she put her hands up in a stop position, she said lets close our eyes and breathe in and out slowly, sit in the quiet be still. It was so good, the kids just calmed right down.
I look forward to stopping over the holiday break and enjoying the calm. All the very best to each of you and thankyou for your contribution to our wonderful BPS community.
