Principal's Report

As we wrap up what has been a great first term, I want to thank our school community for such a positive start to the year. It has been a busy few months, and it is fantastic to look back on the effort and achievements of our students. I hope all our families have a safe and restful holiday break, and a very happy Easter to those celebrating over the long weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for Term 2.

Chinese Day

We had an amazing Chinese Day yesterday, and it was fantastic to see the students getting so involved in the celebrations. Our Chinese assembly to start the day was a highlight, featuring some brilliant musical performances. It was also great to see the sea of red and amazing outfits across the school, from panda costumes to beautiful qipaos. In classrooms, students enjoyed a range of activities to mark the Year of the Horse. A huge thank you to Miss Yi for her outstanding work in organising the day, and to Mrs Shacklock and Mr Merlino for their time and effort in organising the musical performances.

Cultural Festival

What a fantastic atmosphere we had at our Cultural Festival in Week 8. It was wonderful to see such a massive turnout from our families, and great to have students, parents, and staff all getting involved in the fun together. A huge thank you goes to the Parents and Friends committee for all their hard work in preparing for the evening. The food stalls were an absolute hit, thanks to our parent volunteers who spent hours cooking before the festival even began, as well as everyone who stepped up to help out on the night. The entire event was a great reflection of the strong community we have here at BPS.

School Council News

I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the School Council for this year. As the number of nominations matched the number of vacancies, we did not need to hold a ballot.

Thank you to those who nominated. It is fantastic that we have parents wanting to be involved in the operations of the school. As always, we encourage families to be involved however they can—whether that is through the classrooms, the BPS Parents & Friends Committee, or School Council.

I would also like to take a moment to say a big thank you to Chrisanthy who served in 2025 as a Community Member and to Anthony Di Castella for his extended service on School Council including a number of years as School Council President. Your contributions to the school have been greatly appreciated.

School Tours and Enrolments

Our first tours for 2027 enrolments have already started and we are seeing very positive interest in the school, with many tours already booking out! If you are aware of any local families or friends looking to enrol their children please encourage them to book a tour via the website ASAP.

For our current families I encourage you to let the office know if you have a sibling starting in 2027 and we can guide you through the application process. We also welcome you and your children to join us for the readiness sessions.

Early Finish

A reminder that we finish Term One tomorrow, Thursday April 2nd at 2.30pm. Please make sure your pick up arrangements are adjusted for this earlier finish.

Have a wonderful break and I look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 20th April.
