Futsal Success – West Victoria Championships

It has been an outstanding week of futsal for the College, with all teams representing the school with determination and exceptional sportsmanship throughout the West Victoria Championships.

Under 12 Boys

Our Under 12 Boys team finished the day undefeated and were crowned West Victoria Champions. The boys demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and skill across the entire tournament, improving with every match they played. Their positive communication, willingness to support one another and determination in key moments were highlights of the day. The team showed great composure under pressure and should be incredibly proud of the way they represented the College both on and off the court.

Under 14 Girls

Our Under 14 Girls team progressed through to the semi finals and unfortunately lost to the eventual champions. The girls represented the College exceptionally well and showed significant growth throughout the day, especially considering it was their first experience playing futsal. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and willingness to learn were fantastic to watch, and they should be commended for the positive way they approached every challenge throughout the competition.

Under 19 Boys

To finish the competition, our Under 19 Boys team completed the group stage with two wins and two draws, securing top position heading into finals. The boys then defeated an undefeated side in the final to be crowned Under 19 West Victoria Champions.

Beyond the outstanding result, the team’s conduct and character throughout the tournament were exceptional. An observer looking from the outside would say that the College would be incredibly proud of the behaviour, spirit and sportsmanship displayed by the boys. They competed with skill, fairness and determination, while consistently showing respect towards opposition teams and referees, even when decisions did not go their way.

Our teams were superbly coached by Dean Galea, who has brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the program. His ability to make strategic adjustments when needed and create an environment that supports growth and teamwork proved valuable for our students throughout all the tournaments.

VSAC Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Eve L, Hugo C, Lucinda H, Nikita C and Elanie I who recently represented the College and the ACS at the VSAC Swimming Championships. This brought together a strong field of swimmers from across the strongest sport associations in the State.

Many students achieved strong individual performances, while others recorded close to personal best times across their races. The relay teams also performed well and worked hard in each event.

Representing the College and ACS at this level is a significant achievement, and all students involved should be commended for their preparation and commitment leading into the championships. We congratulate all swimmers on their efforts and thank them for the way they represented the College at the event.

District Cross Country

On Tuesday, our Year 4-6 Cross Country squad, competed at the SSV District Cross Country event, held at Keilor Park. The event challenged students across a range of distances and provided an opportunity to compete in a strong field of runners. The wet weather added an additional challenge for our students competing in the later races.

We had a number of students produced excellent results which has led to them qualifying for the Divisional level of competition to be held next week.

Congratulations to the following students on achieving this result;

Alexandria V – 6th Place Adrian G – 6th Place

Zarah B – 7th Place Miachael P – 8th Place
