WEEK 6 | TERM 4

STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

The Grade 4 students have begun drafting their own narratives in Writing. They spent the first few weeks of term unpacking the different types of narratives, such as Realistic Fiction, Science Fiction, Adventure, Historical Fiction and Fantasy. They also learnt about  what features make a good narrative, such as interesting problems, solutions and great characters. 

They have used these skills to plan and begin drafting their narratives. Students planned their author’s message (what they want their readers to learn) and then a problem that matches the author’s message.

They planned their characters by creating character profiles to ensure their characters are interesting. Using this information they have begun drafting their own story in their chosen fiction genre. We can’t wait to see their published pieces
