Echoes Through Time is Taking Shape!

Excitement is building as students begin bringing our 2026 whole-school production, Echoes Through Time, to life!

Over the past few weeks, our talented cast members have enthusiastically embraced rehearsals, learning lines, songs, movement and character roles as they take audiences on a journey through the decades. From the energetic sounds of the 1950s to the music-filled world of today and beyond, students are already showing incredible commitment, confidence and creativity.

A special congratulations must go to our Year 6 students, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication throughout the planning process. Not only are many of them taking on key acting and leadership roles within the production, but they have also shown tremendous interest in supporting the many important jobs that happen behind the scenes.

This week we officially established our Backstage Production Crew, providing students with an exciting opportunity to contribute to the show in new and meaningful ways. Students have volunteered for a variety of production teams, including:

Costume Design Team

Designing futuristic costume concepts for our Year 6 Harmony Seekers, Beat Keepers and future-world characters.

Prop Design Teams

Planning and designing the many special props required throughout the show, including the Harmony Core gifts, giant 1950s lollipops and 1980s guitars.

Production Planning Team

Developing ideas, gathering resources and helping coordinate the many moving parts needed to bring a large-scale production to the stage.

What has been most impressive is the level of ownership students have shown. They are already researching designs, sketching concepts, discussing materials and contributing innovative ideas that will help shape the final performance. These authentic opportunities allow students to explore creativity, collaboration, problem-solving and project management while experiencing the many different careers and roles involved in performing arts productions.

As rehearsals continue throughout the term, we look forward to watching both our performers and backstage teams grow in confidence and skill. There is certainly a buzz of excitement around the school, and we cannot wait to share the finished production with our community later in the year.
