Book Week

Primary Book Week 2026
Reading Hour
Monday 31st Aug 5-6pm
Students and parents had a wonderful time together reading books, drinking hot chocolate and listening to books read to them by their fabulous teachers. It was wonderful to celebrate books and reading and to see families having fun together around great stories. The gold coin donation raised $180 for Reading Out of Poverty, who supply books to Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.
Book Week Parade
Thursday 3rd Sept
We were captivated by the colourful and clever collection of costumes that our students created based on their favourite book characters. For the first time, the parade was held in a beautifully decorated K block (thank you Mrs De Haan & helpers), which was a perfect place for our parade procedures. Parents had the opportunity to enjoy a hot drink from the coffee van, and staff showcased their spectacular Dr Seuss characters.
The parade was sensationally hosted by our stellar Thing 1 & Thing 2
(Mrs DeHaan & Mrs Coates), and Cat in the Hat (Mr Munyard) and the Great Gatsby (Mr Green) handed out awards with aplomb. Thank you to everyone who has made
Book Week such a special event!
Secondary Book Week 2026
Our inaugural Secondary College Book Week Parade was held on Thursday the 3rd of September. Students and staff alike revelled in the opportunity to dress up as literary legends from their favourite books and stories. Worthy of mention is the fabulous team of Yr 12 students who dressed up as the Very Hungry Caterpillar! By no means did the handful of prizes awarded do justice to the amazing, imaginative effort that many students put into their costumes. The general sentiment is that rather than being a one-off affair, Book Week might become an annual event in Secondary to celebrate reading and the gift of stories in our lives.
