Year 1/2 Dioramas

We made our dioramas about Sea Creatures because we have been learning about 'Animals'. These last couple of weeks, we have been learning about water animals.  We have been researching animals like the crocodile. Did you know that the crocodile lives on land AND in water? Animals are very important in the ocean. We used shoe boxes, and we painted underwater landscapes to cover the outside.  Then we painted the beautiful background pictures. We used rocks, cellophane, colourful paper, plasticine and sand to create the landscape. We did some drawing tutorials to assist us in drawing an orca and a seahorse.

Did you know that the male seahorse carries the babies, not the female? Did you know that orcas sleep with one half of their brain awake to keep them safe from predators and remind them to surface for air? - By Gabriel and Christian - 1/2TC

Jogging Club

Students are invited to get active, enjoy some fresh air and build their fitness while having fun with friends. Jogging Club takes place Monday lunchtimes and Friday mornings before school, giving students the opportunity to start the day or break up their week with some movement and exercise.

It’s a great way to get the heart pumping, set some personal goals and enjoy being active together. We love seeing students encouraging one another, challenging themselves and developing their running skills each week. Well done to all our keen runners, keep up the great work! Mr Klan

CAMP ADANAC - Year 3/4

The Year 3/4s had an exciting and memorable experience at Camp ADANAC. The weather was beautiful, and we were all able to enjoy God’s creation while keeping busy with lots of activities. We were so proud of the students and how they worked so well together and enjoyed their time away from home.

Highlights: ‘We went to Camp ADANAC and had so much fun! The activities we enjoyed were zip-lining, canoeing and hut building. It was amazing! Some other activities were archery, camp cooking (we made damper), and last but not least, low ropes (obstacle course made out of ropes). The food at ADANAC was so delicious, actually, it was scrumdiddlyumptious! The lead chef’s name was Nicky, and she told funny jokes. At night, we all sat around a campfire and sang songs. The second night was a movie night, and we got to eat popcorn.' By Jemima and Emelia

Yr 5/6 Basketball Lightning Premiership day

On Friday, August 28th, 10 boys and 10 girls proudly represented Bayside at the Basketball competition at Jubilee Park. It was a fantastic day of basketball, with 12 schools competing across 11 games. Each game was just 5 minutes long, with the girls taking to the court first, followed by the boys. There were plenty of lay-ups, the occasional three-pointer (including a few memorable air balls!), and, most importantly, lots of cheering, encouragement and support from teammates on the sidelines. It was a wonderful day filled with teamwork, enthusiasm and plenty of school spirit. Our boys finished an impressive 4th overall, while our girls starred on the court, finishing as runners-up!

A huge congratulations to all of our students for representing Bayside with such pride, determination and enthusiasm. What a fantastic effort! - Mr Klan
