Vocational Major – End of Term Update

As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, our Vocational Major students have much to celebrate.

Students recently completed their intergenerational volunteering program at Vermont Views Care Community. Throughout the program, they developed valuable communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills while building meaningful connections with residents. The experience provided students with an opportunity to contribute to their community and learn from the life experiences and stories shared by residents.

Students have also completed a series of Food Technology lessons over several weeks, where they developed practical cooking skills, followed recipes, worked safely in a kitchen environment and prepared a range of delicious foods. These sessions provided valuable opportunities to build confidence, independence and employability skills.

Semester 2 is now underway, with students commencing work in Unit 2 and Unit 4. These units will continue to develop students’ personal, workplace and community skills as they prepare for future pathways beyond school.

For our Year 12 Vocational Major students, this marks the beginning of their final term at school. Students have started compiling a portfolio showcasing their achievements and experiences across their schooling, VET studies, part-time employment, work placements and community involvement. This portfolio will highlight the skills, knowledge and personal growth they have developed throughout their educational journey.

Term 3 will conclude with each student presenting their portfolio to an interview panel, providing an excellent opportunity to reflect on their achievements and demonstrate their readiness for future employment, training or further education.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, resilience and growth shown by all Vocational Major students throughout the year and look forward to supporting them through the exciting opportunities ahead.

We wish all students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break.
