Year 9 News

Vermont Secondary College

The start of the new semester has been a great success so far with year 9s beginning their new electives. We’ve also seen great efforts made to fit with the new uniform policies. Hopefully the flexibility and comfort are appreciated with but please keep up the good work as we progress through the colder months. A quick reminder to students, please leave your bags in your lockers, we do not want classrooms clogged with bags because students are trying to make a hasty exit or can’t be bothered putting their stuff away.

This week saw the year 9s take part in the subject expo. There were a number of great stalls set up to showcase all the options in both year 10 and for the future in VCE that students can undertake. It gave both parents and students alike the chance to learn about different subjects we have on offer and we were delighted to engage in so many positive conversations with excited students about what lies ahead. This is only the first part of the process though, all the important information will be available through the school website and students and families are more than welcome to contact the Student Management team with any queries. Keep an eye out for further updates early next term; AP offers will be coming out within the first few weeks before subject selections are due later in the term.

Finally, the most important thing is to have a safe and restful holidays! Your hard work has been noticed and appreciated, and you deserve some much-needed downtime. We look forward to seeing you refreshed and ready to go in term 3!
