Planning for 2027 – Course Counselling and Future Pathways

The past fortnight has been an important time for students as they begin planning their learning pathways for 2027. Our ‘Year 8 into 9’ and ‘Year 10 into 11’ Course Counselling process has provides students and families with valuable opportunities to discuss subject selections, career aspirations and future pathways.

Choosing subjects is about far more than filling in a form. It encourages students to reflect on their strengths, interests and goals while making informed decisions that will support their engagement, achievement and post-school aspirations. These conversations are an important part of ensuring every student has a pathway that is both challenging and suited to their individual needs.

Thank you to our dedicated Course Counsellors, Careers team, teachers, presenters and Education Support staff who contributed their time, expertise and preparation throughout this process. We also acknowledge the significant work undertaken behind the scenes to prepare course handbooks, pathway resources, presentations, student data and individual counselling materials. The quality of this work ensures that every student has access to the information and support they need to make confident decisions about their future.

2027 Information Evenings

Thank you to the many Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 students and families who have attended or are planning to attended our 2027 Information Evenings. These sessions provide important information about our curriculum, senior pathways, VCE and VCE Vocational Major, as well as the subject selection process.

The strong attendance so far demonstrates the value our community places on education and the importance of families working in partnership with the College to support students through key transition points.

Subject Selections – Due Friday 14th August 

Students are encouraged to discuss their selections with their families and seek further advice from teachers, if they are still considering their options after the course counselling process and information presented. Meeting this deadline is important as planning for classes and staffing for 2027 is now underway.

Year 10 Work Experience

As Term 2 concluded, our Year 10 students completed their Work Experience placements across a wide range of industries and workplaces.

Work Experience is a valuable part of the Year 10 program, allowing students to explore potential career pathways, develop employability skills and gain a greater understanding of workplace expectations. Experiences such as these help students connect their classroom learning with the world beyond school while building confidence, independence and informed career aspirations.

Thank you to the many employers who generously hosted our students, our families for supporting the process, and our staff who coordinated placements, visited students in the workplace and ensured the program's success. A particular thank you to Ms Charalambous our Careers Leader and Ms Viclyn Colina who facilitated the program. Congratulations to the students who were offered part time employment after their efforts at work experience! 

Uniform Reminder

As outlined in the Student Dress Code, students are not permitted to wear casual clothing items to school. This includes non-uniform hoodies, jumpers, jackets and other items that are not part of the approved College uniform.

I thank families for their ongoing support in ensuring students arrive at school each day in the correct uniform and helping us maintain high expectations across the College.
