Year 8 Inquiry Students Explore Entrepreneurship
Whittlesea Tech School
Our Year 8 Inquiry students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Whittlesea Tech School as part of their Entrepreneurship unit. The immersive learning experience challenged students to think creatively, collaborate effectively, and develop the essential skills required to turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions.
Throughout the day, students participated in a series of engaging, hands-on activities that introduced them to the entrepreneurial design process. Working in teams, they identified problems, generated creative solutions, developed prototypes, and pitched their ideas with confidence. The program encouraged students to think critically, communicate effectively, and embrace innovation while learning that successful entrepreneurship is built on resilience, adaptability, and teamwork.
The experience also highlighted the importance of future-ready capabilities, including problem-solving, leadership, digital technologies, and effective communication. Students were encouraged to take risks, learn from feedback, and refine their ideas—valuable skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
The visit complemented our Year 8 Inquiry curriculum by connecting classroom learning with authentic industry practices. Students left inspired by the possibilities of entrepreneurship and with a greater appreciation of how creativity and innovation can be used to solve everyday challenges and make a positive impact on their community.
We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, collaboration, and professionalism demonstrated by our Year 8 students throughout the day.
We thank the team at Whittlesea Tech School for providing such an engaging and inspiring learning experience that empowered our students to think like the innovators and entrepreneurs of the future.
