Interhouse Athletics Results

Another big well done to all our Grade 3-6 athletes who clocked up a huge amount of points for their house at the Interhouse Athletics Day.  Unfortunately due to the many activities happening at school we are not able present a full segment on Athletics at assembly until Term 2.  On Monday, however, the students were notified on the final house positions so we’re now letting the parents know:

  • 1st – Simpson (3153 points)
  • 2nd – Scott (2196 points)
  • 3rd – Inglis (2181 points)
  • 4th – Cornish (1937 points)

Congratulations Simpson! Second year in a row!

At our next Grade 3-6 assembly, we plan on presenting age group champions and record breakers.

Interhouse Cross Country

Well done to all our fabulous runners who took part in the P-6 Interhouse Cross Country last Friday. We had rainbows of colour taking to the course and some very fast times clocked.

We have the results all tallied up and are looking forward to letting the students know over the next couple of days.

A very sincere thank you to all the wonderful adults who assisted throughout the day on Friday. We were absolutely appreciative of everyone who put their name down to help and enabled us to run the day (very literally).  From all the students and staff, thank you very much!

Those who have qualified for the Division Cross Country (10 May, 2024) will be contacted via Compass over the following weeks.

Regional Swimming

Wishing Jude, Milla and Addison all the best in their Regional Swimming this Friday!  We can’t wait to hear how you go.

Afterschool Netball Opportunity

Buninyong Primary School is planning on entering on team/s into the Darroch Afterschool Netball Competition at Llanberris Netball Stadium.  These will be run on Tuesday afternoons (game times expected to be 4pm, 5pm and 6pm) in Term 2 (commencing 23 April, 2024) and is a participation competition only (i.e. there are no finals).  The competition will run for nine weeks. Lunchtime training sessions may run if there is an adult available.

Grade 3-6 students (boys and girls) interested in joining a team will need to register via Compass and make payment before 27 March, 2024. Please note that we will endeavour to include all interested students and preferred days.

Teams will be decided by Claire Morris and will be based around the groups of Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6.  The cost is $50 (+ VNA if required) and will need to be paid upon registration (27 March, 2024).  A refund will be given to those not placed in a team.  Uniform will be provided this year and the hire of these is included in the cost. Please note that own transport to and from games will be required each week.

This will not be a staffed event and we will be relying on parental assistance at the game to coach and score.  Please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in filling the coaching/scorers roll.  N.B. teams will not be entered without a designated coach.

Please contact Claire Morris if you have any further questions.
