School Council Elections

It took a little longer than first expected, but the School Council election process is now complete, meaning we can now announce membership for this year.

  1. Parent Representatives – Parent representation on School Council for this year will consist of Graeme Benn, Adrian Liston, Linda Wight, Kartya DeGraff, Jane Gilbert, Debbie Rybicki, James Jess, Amy Walker and Kylie Bickerdike. We welcome James, Amy and Kylie for their first stint on School Council and are delighted to have Jane and Debbie re-nominate for a new term.  Graeme, Adrian, Linda and Kartya have a year to run on their current terms.
  2. DET (Department of Education & Training) Representatives – Department representation on School Council for this year will consist of Nicole Phillips, Paula Dekok, Narelle Sullivan, Ana Anderson and myself.  A big thankyou to Ana for coming onboard.

Our thanks go to those finishing up on School Council, those being Anthony Schinck, Nora Gordon, Rachel Lugg, Luke Blunden and Daniel Spalding and thank each for their contribution.

Next Monday (March 25) we have our AGM and the March meeting, which will be the first meetings for our new School Councillors.

Cross Country Event

The inter-house cross country is a highlight on the school calendar for me.   Every year the kids give their absolute best and show great sportsmanship along the way.  It’s really nice to see the kids feeling proud of themselves at the finish line and congratulating others on their efforts.

A big thankyou to Ms Morris who always runs a well organised event and to the grade 6 sports house leaders who helped out on the day.  It was really nice to see so many families in attendance, which helped give a community feel to the event.  The students certainly appreciated the support of parents and staff.

Good luck to all of those that have qualified to compete at the district level, proving an opportunity to test themselves against students from other schools in Ballarat.
