All Schools Cricket Challenge

During the Summer Holidays members of the First XI Cricket squad participated in the All Schools Cricket Challenge in Brisbane. The side won two of the three scheduled 50 over fixtures [St Edmund’s College, Canberra and Downlands College, Toowoomba], with a nail-biting one run loss to Padua College, Brisbane and losses in the T20 friendly against St Peter’s College, Auckland and a 40 over fixture on the final day against St Kevin’s College, Toorak.

There were several outstanding personal performances during the week, with Liam Garrett capturing 6-20 against St Edmunds College, Flynn Bugden capturing 5-17 against Padua, and Hamish Malone recording his maiden century, scoring 141 not out against Downlands College, Toowoomba.

Hamish was only dismissed once during the week and was recognised as the leading run scorer in the carnival, being selected in the Australasian Merit Team.
