Wellbeing - Whole School

Supporting Every Student to Thrive

We welcome all students back for 2026. We hope it was a holy and restful break for all our students and families.

This year, we are continuing several important initiatives designed to strengthen how we support each student’s learning, wellbeing, and overall growth. This reflects our commitment to knowing our students well, setting them up for success, and ensuring they feel supported both academically and personally - key areas as part of our new strategic plan across the College.

Academic Goal Setting

We are rolling out a structured academic goal-setting process for all students. Goal setting helps students develop clarity, motivation, and a sense of ownership over their learning. When students understand where they are, where they are heading, and what steps they need to take, they are more likely to stay engaged and resilient in the face of challenges.

Through guided conversations with staff, students will set realistic, meaningful academic goals and regularly reflect on their progress. This process supports confidence, self-awareness, and lifelong learning skills that extend well beyond the classroom. Once they are conducted on TrackOne and reviewed by staff, you will have an opportunity to review and accept. More details later in the term to come.

Student Home Background Survey: Knowing Our Students Better

To better understand and support our students, we will also be introducing a Student Home Background Survey. The purpose of this survey is to help staff gain insight into each student’s context, strengths, and needs. Having this understanding allows us to provide more personalised care, respond thoughtfully when challenges arise, and build stronger, more trusting relationships with students and families. All information will be treated with care and confidentiality.

Wellbeing Pulse Surveys: Listening and Responding

Student wellbeing is central to learning and success. This year, we will begin using regular, short wellbeing “pulse” surveys. These quick check-ins allow students to share how they are feeling over time, helping us identify trends, respond early to concerns, and celebrate positive wellbeing. By listening consistently, rather than only at fixed points in the year, we can better support students to feel safe, connected, and ready to learn.

Together, these initiatives help us take a more holistic approach to student life here at the College - supporting not only academic progress, but also wellbeing, belonging, and personal growth. We appreciate your partnership as we continue to work together to help every student thrive.
