Prep

Welcome back to Term 4! It has been a busy term so far, with lots of fun things. We are excited for even more learning and fun to happen during the rest of the term.
Athletics Day
Our Athletics Day was a huge success. Even though the weather was hot and windy, everyone tried their best and gave each event a go! A HUGE thank you to the families that helped out on the day! We couldn't have done it without you. Check out our photos below.
Werribee Zoo
We had such a fun time at the zoo! The students got a chance to explore what being part of an African village would be like. Students collected water, practised weaving to make a blanket, kept a lookout for dangerous animals and sang a song as we worked. After our time in the village, off we went for an explore around the zoo. We saw so many animals - our legs sure were tired by the end of the day. Check out our photos below.
Literacy
During Phonics, we have been learning new spelling patterns, including: ck, wh and ng. The students have been transferring this knowledge from creating words with the spelling pattern, using the spelling patterns when writing independently and reading books with that spelling pattern.
In Literacy, we have been learning about all the different ways we can persuade people of our opinions. We wrote about different reasons why the Pidgeon Should Not Drive The Bus and why our monster is the best monster.
Maths
In Maths, we have become sharing pros! Students have been learning all about division, finding ways to share fairly. While practising our sharing, we are continuing to form our numbers correctly.
We have also been learning about length, mass and capacity. Students practised hefting to see which object is heavier. We also compared how long things are to other objects around the classroom. The students enjoyed exploring different things around our classroom.
Humanities
In Humanities, we have been exploring history and how places have changed. We looked at Google Earth maps from now and what they looked like 5 years ago, and then 10 years ago. It was fascinating to see how many things have changed over the years.
