Performing Arts 

Term 3 has been our busiest term yet for performing arts, many exciting events & opportunities for our students.

Production - The Little Mermaid

August 20th-22nd we had our performances of The Little Mermaid, audiences filled with teachers, students, and community members had outstanding feedback about this years show. We want to extend our thanks to anyone who showed their support in attending this show. 

We couldn't be prouder of the effort, commitment & passion that all students across cast, crew & orchestra put into this show. The production team as well as students are excited for next year already! Our 2027 production will be announced at the Art & Tech Festival on November 11th.

4C's Performance Evening 

Our 4C’s Performance Evening at Bunjil Place was a wonderful celebration of culture, community and connection. Our students took to the stage with confidence and enthusiasm, sharing their rich cultural backgrounds through music, dance and performance. It was fantastic to see our young people embrace the opportunity to showcase what makes their cultures so special, while celebrating the diversity that makes our school community so unique.

The students represented CESC with such pride and were wonderful ambassadors for both our school and their cultures. Their performances demonstrated courage, creativity and a genuine sense of belonging, and it was wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they performed for family, friends and members of the wider community. A huge congratulations to all of our students for their hard work, commitment and outstanding performances — you should all be incredibly proud of what you achieved!

Music

The Senior Concert Band travelled to Carrum Downs Secondary College at the end of August to participate in a mass concert band, learning and refining a selection of repertoire aimed to challenge and grow their playing. Our students acted as leaders amongst the event, helping  other students and teaching them new techniques to work towards a cohesive and wonderful performance at the end of the day.

CESC Rock Band took part in the SEVR Battle of the Bands at the start of September, competing against other schools across the South-East Region. The Rock Band has been working hard all year to get up their repertoire and decided to test their mettle with an original song, “Great Ocean Road”, and “Alien Blues” by Vundabar. They came home victorious with two trophies: "Best Stage Presence" to Jazper, and "Best Original Song" for the whole band. 

Victorian State School Spectacular

The end of August saw a handful of CESC student attending the final dress rehearsals and performances for Victorian State School Spectacular at John Cain Arena. The days were long and tiring, but our students showed resilience, commitment and enthusiasm throughout the whole event, we're very proud of their efforts in both the Mass Dance and Mass Choir sections. This event was a wonderful opportunity getting to perform dozens of songs alongside thousands of students across Victoria.
