Year 8 News

As we wrap up Term 1, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on what has been a positive and productive start to the year for our Year 8 students.

We have been incredibly proud of the way Year 8 students have approached their learning. Across all classes, students have shown a strong commitment to their studies, engaging thoughtfully in lessons and striving to improve. This is clearly reflected in the high quality of interim reports, which highlight both achievement and areas of growth.

It has also been fantastic to see such a large number of Year 8 students maintaining attendance rates of 90% and above. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in success, and it is pleasing to see so many students demonstrating this commitment.

Beyond the classroom, Year 8 students have embraced a wide range of extracurricular opportunities. Our swimming carnival and athletics trials have been a highlight, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, and school spirit. We also recognise the positive contributions Year 8 students continue to make to the wider school community.

As interim reports are shared, we encourage students and families to take the time to read and reflect on the feedback provided. Acting on this feedback is an important step in supporting continued improvement. We also value the upcoming parent/teacher interviews as an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between school and home in supporting each student’s progress.

We wish all Year 8 students and their families a safe and happy term break. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest, time with loved ones, and of course, some Easter chocolate!

We look forward to welcoming our Year 8 students back next term, refreshed and ready to jump into Term 2.
