End of term reminders

Students need to remember to take their instruments home over the holidays and do a little bit of playing. Soirees are coming up soon in Term 3 and good preparation will ensure fantastic results.

East Gippsland Music Festival

The East Gippsland Music Festival has been running all this week. The week started with the intermediate band. Thirty-two students plus staff went to Orbost Community College to rehearse all day with other students from Orbost CC, Maffra SC and Nagle College. Our students had a fabulous day, showing that a term of hard work can certainly pay off.

Tuesday was the junior band, under the baton of our own Sarah Caddie and Andrew Long. These students only started learning this year but are already behaving like experienced musicians. It was especially pleasing to see the way they interacted with the other schools and how they supported each other on the day. Our students have certainly represented our school very well, displaying outstanding behaviour and fully participating in the event.

The rest of the week finished with strings, senior band and swing band. The culmination of the festival was the Gala Concert on Thursday night. There will be more photos next newsletter.
