Music Soirée

We enjoyed an exceptional Term 2 Music Soirée on Thursday 19th June. A huge number of senior performers took part from across Years 7-12, in front of a packed supportive audience of friends and family in the PAC Recital Room. Well done to the following students on their musical items:

Year 7: Avery Dunshea, Lilian Kapoor, Otto Miskovic-Wheatley

Year 8: Wolfgang Hummel, Zoe Papasotiriou

Year 9: Simeon Gee, Arden Kloiber, Ruby Minter, Chloe Stenberg

Year 10: Lizzie Nealon-Cook, Jessica Nutt, Tara Sataka

Year 11: Ruby Gale, Iluka Horn, Liz Isbister, Alex Stewart

Year 12: Frankie McNair, Evie Pritchard

There was a diverse range of instruments and music played, including duets and trios. We were excited to see some new faces making their soirée debuts as well as students who continue to develop their skills in increasingly sophisticated musical works.

Thanks also go to:

  • Accompanists Lyn Phillips and Mrs Julie Cooney
  • Peripatetic tutors Rachel Collyer and Robyn Glindemann
  • Mr Rowley Moore for technical expertise and sound desk operation
  • Ms Kathi Downs for program and organisational support

We also acknowledge the family commitment and encouragement that supports our students in their musical endeavours. Well done all!

Whole School Concert – Friday, 22 August, 6pm

We are busily preparing for the Whole School Concert next Friday, 22nd August. It is important that ensemble musicians attend ALL usual rehearsals at the normal times as well as these FINAL rehearsals in Cuff Hall:

Thursday, 21 August: 10:50am-3:00pm Full Run-Through (including Junior School ensembles)

Friday, 22 August: 08:50am-1:20pm Senior Ensemble rehearsals

Students should arrive promptly at rehearsals with their instrument/s and music, ready to rehearse. Class teachers will be notified of their absence from class.

On the evening of the concert, Friday, 22 August, students should arrive in full immaculate school uniform, between 5:30 - 5:45pm and report to the Music MICs at Cuff Hall. Instrument cases can be left in the backstage area.

Don’t forget to buy your audience tickets here: TryBooking

Ticket sales are online only (no door sales) and show your QR code at the door. Adults $10, Children $5. There is no need to purchase a ticket for students who are performing in the concert.

A refreshments stall will be run by the P&F in the John Cunningham Student Centre from 5:00pm.
