Year 11 Leadership Day 2025

On 20th June, our Year 11 students attended a Leadership Day at StayKCC Katoomba, participating in Burn Bright’s Leadership Program.

The program encouraged students to reflect on who they are, the influence they have on others, and how they can continue to grow as individuals. Through a range of interactive sessions and activities, students explored how leadership begins with personal character and self-awareness, and how these foundations can be used to build strong, trustworthy relationships and positively impact their community.

Throughout the day, students:

  • Considered their personal strengths, values, and the importance of making mindful decisions.
  • Learned the value of serving others.
  • Discussed the importance of genuine relationships, appreciation, and respect for differences.
  • Reflected on the influence of their actions, communication, and online presence.
  • Explored healthy decision-making, resilience, and the benefits of challenging themselves.
  • Discovered the power of having a clear vision for the future.

A truly impactful moment came when Year 11 students had the opportunity to share their hopes and wishes for each other for the year ahead. This heartfelt exchange moved many to tears of joy and demonstrated a shared desire to unite as a year group and move forward with positivity and mutual support. Another highlight was the skipping rope challenge, where teamwork, encouragement, and determination helped the cohort achieve their goal together in record time.

The day left our students feeling inspired, connected, and ready to step into their senior leadership roles with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment.
