Principal's News

Dear St Agatha’s School Community,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I hope the holidays brought rest, joy, and a chance to recharge. It has been wonderful to see our school once again filled with excitement, laughter, and the smiling faces of our students.

A very warm welcome to our new Foundation students, who have begun their schooling journey with confidence, enthusiasm, and plenty of courage. We are so proud of how beautifully they have settled in. Our Year 6 Leaders, who are serving as Foundation Buddies, have already enjoyed meeting their Foundation friends and have shown wonderful leadership, kindness, and care. It is always heartwarming to see these new friendships form.

Congratulations to all students for such a smooth and positive start to the year. Classrooms are buzzing, routines are forming, and it is clear we are stepping into a year filled with learning, growth, and joy.

This year is an especially significant one as we celebrate 50 years of St Agatha’s School. Since opening its doors in 1976, our school has been built on strong foundations of faith, community, and learning. Throughout the year, we will honour this milestone with celebrations that reflect our history and the families and staff who have shaped our story.

Yesterday evening we held our annual St Agatha’s Bush Dance, and it was a wonderful success. The atmosphere on the school oval was vibrant and full of joy as Bushwazee played for us and led the community through a range of traditional Aussie bush dances. Our children had an absolutely fantastic night—dancing, laughing, sharing food, and enjoying time together with their friends and families.

A heartfelt thank you to all staff for their commitment, energy, and support in attending and helping make the evening run so smoothly. Your dedication to our students and school community is truly appreciated. Thank you also to our families for bringing along such delicious food to share. The variety and generosity created a warm, welcoming, and festive community celebration.

Please enjoy the photos attached—we hope they capture the spirit of the night as beautifully as it felt.

Today we continue our celebrations with our Feast Day Mass at 12:30pm with Father Antony, where we will honour Saint Agatha, our patron saint. We give thanks for the example she sets in guiding our school motto of Courage, Faith and Love, and we look forward to celebrating this special day together as a whole school community.

We also have our Parent–Teacher Interviews coming up on Wednesday, 18th February from 2pm–8pm. Bookings are essential and can be made via PAM School Interviews.

A friendly reminder to update your PAM password following the instructions provided earlier. Please also remember that the SIMON Everywhere App is no longer supported and should now be deleted. Going forward, PAM must be accessed via a web browser using this URL:

Each time you log into PAM, you will be asked to enter a 6‑digit verification code that will be sent to your personal email address. If you need assistance with this, please pop into the office—we’re always happy to help.

Thank you for your support, cooperation, and partnership as we begin this milestone year. I look forward to all that 2026 will bring as we learn, celebrate, and grow together.

Warm regards,

Michelle Bruitzman
