As we approach the end of the term, our SLC students continue to work incredibly hard and should be commended for their commitment and effort throughout the semester.

Year 6
Year 6 students have recently begun reading Can You See Me? by Rebecca Westcott and Libby Scott.
This engaging and inspiring novel follows the story of Tally, a young girl with autism who is beginning secondary school. As Tally navigates new friendships, social challenges, and the transition to a new learning environment, she hopes people will see her for who she truly is.
The novel provides valuable insight into the experiences of a young person with autism and explores important themes of friendship, inclusion, resilience, empathy, and self-acceptance.
Through Tally's journey, students are encouraged to develop a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and celebrate the unique strengths that make each person special.
Our SLC students participated in the UPP Aspire 2 Workshop, and what a fabulous day it was! The workshop was high-energy, high-impact, and inspired every student to recognise the power of their influence, strengths, teamwork, and actions. Throughout the day, students were fully engaged in a range of interactive activities that challenged them to think, collaborate, and contribute.
Their enthusiasm, participation, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones were outstanding. It was wonderful to see students actively involved from start to finish, developing valuable skills and a positive mindset that will support them both at school and beyond.
🎓Year 5 Transition Day – St. Mary of the Angels🎓
On Wednesday, our Year 5 students enjoyed a fantastic Transition Day experience at St. Mary of the Angels Secondary College.
The day was a great success, with our students enthusiastically embracing the opportunity to experience a taste of secondary school life. Throughout the day, students participated in a range of engaging activities, explored new learning environments and connected with staff and students at the College.
It was wonderful to see our Joeys so engaged, curious and willing to have a go throughout each of the activities. They represented St. Joseph’s beautifully and made the most of every opportunity presented to them. Experiences such as today are an important part of the pathway towards secondary school, helping our students to build familiarity, confidence and excitement as they begin to look ahead to the next stage of their educational journey.
A big thank you to the staff and students at St. Mary of the Angels for providing such a welcoming, engaging and valuable experience for our Year 5 students. What a wonderful first step in their journey towards transitioning to secondary college!
