St Joseph’s Cobram warmly invites local community service providers and groups to participate in our upcoming R U OK? Day Community Expo.

This event aims to promote positive mental health through community connection, open conversations, and collaboration in supporting the children and families within our community. We are planning to open the school to students, parents, and caregivers from 2:30pm–3:30pm, providing an opportunity for families to connect directly with local services and community organisations.

Our Goals

• Strengthen connections between families and local community services and groups

• Enhance community connectedness and wellbeing

• Help break down barriers to accessing support and opportunities within the Moira Shire community

Important Notice: Hay Avenue Crossing Supervision

Please be advised that on Friday, 11th September, there will be no crossing supervisor (Lollipop Lady) on duty at the pedestrian crossing on Hay Avenue.

Unfortunately, the school is unable to provide supervision at this crossing due to insurance requirements and restrictions.

We would like to remind families that the Hay Avenue crossing is classified as a pedestrian crossing, not a school crossing. As such, motorists are required to give way to pedestrians using the crossing.

We encourage all students to continue to use the crossing safely and responsibly. If you have any concerns about your child crossing independently on this day, we kindly ask that you meet them at the Hay Avenue gate and accompany them across the road.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping to keep our students safe.

Afternoon Pick‑Up Reminder

To support uninterrupted learning time for all students, we kindly ask parents and guardians not to enter the school grounds for afternoon pick‑up before 3:00 pm or before the administration breezeway door is opened, which will occur at 3:00 pm each day.

This approach helps minimise distractions and allows students to remain focused and engaged in their learning right up to the end of the school day. We appreciate your cooperation and ongoing support.

Parking Notice

For safety and operational reasons, families are reminded that parking across or within the staffroom car park driveway is not permitted at any time. This access must remain clear to ensure staff access and to allow for emergency vehicles if required. We ask for your cooperation in observing this requirement and supporting the smooth and safe operation of the school.

⏰ Morning Drop-Off Reminder

We kindly ask that students are not dropped off before 8:30am, as there is no supervision available prior to this time.

To ensure everyone’s safety, children and parents arriving early will need to wait outside the administration building until the glass divider is opened at 8:30am, which signals that the school is officially open.

We’ve noticed a number of students arriving around 8:00am. While we understand that work commitments can make mornings tricky, please be aware that children arriving before 8:30am will be unsupervised, which poses a safety concern.

Emergency Management Drill Schedule

Over the course of the year, the school is required to complete a range of emergency management drills. Please see our intended drill schedule below. Each drill will happen once over the course of the term.

Term 1 = Shelter in place and a Lock in

Term 2 = Evacuation from learning spaces to the oval

Term 3 = Evacuation offsite to Mivo Park

Term 4 = Evacuation from playtime on the yard to the oval

Child Safety Standards
