Creative Happenings and 'Bullying, No Way' Week in the Visual Art Room

It’s been extremely busy in the Visual Art room this term! Students have been exploring lines, shapes, patterns and textures through printmaking. Foundation students have used everyday objects to create collages of birds, beetles and butterflies and Year 1/2 students have designed and created relief prints of ‘Under the Sea’ worlds. Our Year 5/6 students have been challenged by learning how to carve designs into blocks of linoleum and create inked prints. If you happen to venture into our front office foyer, you will see what our budding Year 3/4 artists have been creating; Mexican Alebrijes inspired sculptured whimsical creatures. All students are currently developing their observation skills through still life drawing, before they embark on a textiles project.

Bullying, No Way: ‘Small Acts, Big Impact’

A dedicated and creative group of students came together in the Visual Art Room during a couple of Lunch Club sessions to design and create positive affirmation posters. These were placed around the school for 'Bullying No Way' week to help foster positive thoughts, emotions and resilience. Through kind words, we recognise, and are reminded of, the good in our own hearts and lives.

Thank you, Zoe, Stella, Alessandra, Evie, Amelia R, Amelia B and Ruby, for helping us all remember what is means to be a good human to others, and ourselves.
