Grade 5/6 Public Speaking Program

Starting on Tuesday 21st our Grade 5/6' s will begin the Public Speaking Program. Every Tuesday and Thursday. This will go on throughout term 2.  Families will be invited to watch them speak during the last session. 

In this course they will learn to:

• Deliver with confidence and overcome nerves when speaking in front of an audience
• Analyse an audience and their needs, expectations, and preferences, and how to tailor a message accordingly.
• Structure a presentation logically, clearly, and persuasively, and how to use transitions, summaries, and conclusions effectively.
• Use strategies and tools for engaging (and re-engaging) an audience.
• Use  voice, body language, eye contact, gestures, and facial expressions to enhance your verbal message and engage an audience.
• Use storytelling techniques, anecdotes, examples, metaphors, humour, and rhetorical devices to make a presentation memorable and impactful.
• Handle questions, feedback, objections, and interruptions professionally and diplomatically.
