Football Development Program
Over the last month our Football Development Program (FDP) students have competed in various competitions including Wyndham Division Interschool Sport Soccer and the West Victorian Futsal Championships. The Football Development Program has 110 students from Years 7-10 enrolled in the subject. We have had some major individual and team successes this year. Below are summaries of our participation in these events.
Year 7 Boys
Our boys finished 3rd in the Wyndham Divisional competition just missing out on qualifying for the final after a 3-1 loss to the eventual champions Hoppers Crossing SC.
Year 7 Girls
In their first games representing the FDP our girls finished 2nd in the Wyndham Divisional competition after a narrow 1-0 loss to Tarneit P-9 in a very physical game.
Year 8 Boys
Our boys qualified for the divisional final playoff with 3 straight group game wins. They took on Werribee SC in the final and won the final 1-0. They have now qualified for the Western Regional Finals where they will face Maribyrnong Sports Academy, Braybrook SC and Strathmore SC in the group games. #WYNNERS
Year 8 Girls
Our girls were very strong in defence and midfield but lacking an out an out striker, our girls were unable to put away their chances on goal and finished equal 2nd in the group stage losing out to eventual Divisional Champions The Grange.
Year 9-10 Boys
Our boys went undefeated in the group stage recording 3 dominant wins against Suzanne Cory SC, Baden Powell SC and Al Taqwa SC. Our boys came up against Bemin SC in the final, and with virtually the last kick of the game in extra time our boys scored the winning goal, lobbing the Bemin keeper from 25 meters. They have now qualified for the Western Regional Finals where they will face Maribyrnong Sports Academy, Lakeview SC and Strathmore SC in the group games. #WYNNERS
Year 9-10 Girls
Our girls won the group stage with wins against The Grange SC and Baden Powell SC. The final was a repeat of last year where we took on Suzanne Corey SC in the Divisional Final. We dominated the game and had numerous chances, eventually putting one in the back of the net for a 1-0 win. They have now qualified for the Western Regional Finals. #WYNNERS
Our 9-10 girls (defending champions) also competed in the 2024 West Victorian Futsal Championships against the likes of Assumption College, Maribyrnong Sport Academy, Haileybury College. The girls finished 3rd overall against high quality opponents. In some fantastic news for our girls, 5 players from our squad of 12 were selected to represent the Victorian U16 state side in the National Championships to be played in Brisbane in September.
Please congratulate our FDP students on their performances and successes.

Cross Country - WMR
Six of our college’s students attend the Western Metropolitan Regional Cross Country event out at Brimbank Park (Keilor Park).
Apart from previous years, yesterday was filled with some sunlight and dry conditions for the competitors. Our students were nervous, but ready to give it their best shot. With the likes of Maribyrnong Sports Academy, Williamstown High and other top end talent schools, the competition was likely to be fierce.
I would like to congratulate our students for getting to this stage. It is an amazing achievement. We have already begun discussing trainings and practice for next year's competition. We will be there again!
