Celebrating Student Creativity and Innovation at the Enrichment Expo

The Enrichment

Expo was held earlier this term on May 6th. This year’s event was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talents and hard work of our students. The Wyndham Tech School, where the event was held, was filled with vibrant displays of creativity, innovation, and academic excellence that truly captured the spirit of our school community. Congratulations to all the students for their dedicated approach to extending their learning.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers, staff, and parents who supported our students in preparing for the Expo. Your encouragement and guidance were instrumental in making this event a success. We are also grateful to the many parents who attended the Expo, turning it into a true community celebration of student learning.

The Enrichment Expo is a wonderful reminder of the potential within each of our students. We are committed to providing more opportunities for them to explore their interests and showcase their talents. We look forward to seeing what amazing projects they will create next year!

50 Years Celebration Alumni Event

On Wednesday 12th June we celebrated 50 years of our school with an Alumni afternoon tea where special guests, student and staff Alumni were invited to school for a tour, speeches, the unveiling of the school’s new honour boards and a fabulous afternoon tea.

It was an incredible afternoon filled with nostalgia, pride, and cherished memories. Seeing our alumni reconnect with old teachers and fellow past students warmed our hearts. Hearing from our Alumni, learning more about the history of the school, seeing our new honour boards unveiled and the cake were just a few of many highlights. We were also so fortunate to have three Alumni guest speakers talk at this event about their experiences of attending our school in all its stages; Werribee Tech, Galvin Park SC and Wyndham Central College

Thank you Sanya Gupta Class of 2022, Trevor Weston Class of 1995 and Darren Rieger Class of 1985 for coming back to speak.

Honour Boards

We were thrilled to officially unveil our Honour Boards at the event. The Honour Boards are a lasting tribute to the outstanding achievements of our students, past and present. They are a tangible representation of the excellence that our school strives to foster in every individual who walks through our doors.

For Alumni, Honour Boards are more than just lists of names; they are a testament to hard work, perseverance, and contributions. They connect generations, reminding us of our shared legacy and high standards. Seeing your name on an Honour Board is a mark of distinction, a reflection of your commitment to excellence, and an inspiration to current students who look up to your achievements as a sign of what is possible. These boards reinforce the bond between the school and its alumni.

Honour Boards also preserve our school's history and traditions, honouring the achievements that have shaped our reputation. By recognising our alumni's accomplishments, we reinforce our school's values and inspire future generations. We look forward to continuing to honour the achievements of our students, both past and present, and celebrate their legacy of excellence.

Student Ambassadors

The student ambassador for the Alumni Afternoon Tea performed their duties with professionalism and excellence. This was a prestigious opportunity for our students to represent the school and interact with our esteemed alumni.

As a student ambassador, your child played a vital role in welcoming and assisting our alumni, leading the school tour as well as participating in the unveiling ceremony and the afternoon tea. This experience not only enhanced their leadership skills but also provided them with a chance to connect with successful graduates who can inspire their academic and professional journeys.

AVID and Acceleration Selection

The selection process for the AVID Elective and Acceleration program continues, thank you to all students that have expressed interest. The selection process is rigorous, and we are delighted to see how well students have represented themselves.

The AVID Elective and Acceleration programs aim to provide students with unique opportunities for intellectual growth and challenge. They serve as platforms for exceptional students to expand their knowledge and skills beyond the standard curriculum, fostering their love for learning and exploration.

Throughout the selection process, we witnessed firsthand the remarkable talents and capabilities of our students. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to their academic pursuits have been truly inspiring. The quality of their applications, interviews, and assessments showcased their exceptional potential.

The selection process continues, and we work diligently to finalise the decisions. The committee recognises the significance of these outcomes for the students involved and is dedicated to making informed and thoughtful choices.

We understand the anticipation surrounding the selection results and want to assure all students that they will be informed of the outcomes shortly. We appreciate your patience during this final phase of the selection process.

We encourage all students to continue embracing intellectual challenges and seeking opportunities for growth. Each and every one of you has demonstrated immense potential, and we have no doubt that your future endeavours will be equally impressive.

End of Semester Reports

The Semester 1 Reports were accessible to parents and carers via Compass on Friday 21st June. On this day, students also received a hard copy of their report, completed a report reflection, and set goals for Term 3. The Semester 1 reports provide valuable feedback to help students reflect on and celebrate their achievements while setting goals for future improvement.

We extend our gratitude to parents for your ongoing support in encouraging your children to fulfill all work requirements and assessment tasks, fostering their confidence as learners. Additionally, we highly recommend that parents continue to motivate their children to attend Homework Club, held on Wednesday after school. This valuable resource offers students the necessary support to complete their homework and revision effectively.

As the holiday break approaches, we wish all families a restful and safe time. May it be filled with many cherished moments.
