What's On In STEM

This term, our P-6 students are diving into the fascinating world of Chemical Science with Ms. Chin. Throughout the coming weeks, our young scientists will be exploring the fundamental building blocks of our universe—investigating what the things in our world are made of, how they behave, and how they can change under different conditions.

To kick off our unit, students have been focusing on the foundational language of science. They have been mastering key vocabulary to accurately describe and categorize the properties of everyday materials. Through hands-on exploration, classes are learning to identify whether objects are:

• Flexible or rigid
• Hard or soft
• Rough or smooth
• Transparent, translucent, or opaque

By developing these observation skills, students are building a strong foundation for the exciting experiments, predictions, and chemical reactions they will be testing later in the term!
