Community News

It's the Winter Solstice and Macedon and Mt Macedon Landcare group have a plan! Not just for how we can celebrate as a community the turning of the dark towards the light, but how we can envision the future of the waterways of the southern slopes on Mt Macedon.
We have identified 7 stretches of local creek that, when restored, will create linkages for birds, animals and other creatures to move, feed and breed across the mountain so they can thrive. This work will also improve water quality for the whole Maribyrnong River.
This is a unique opportunity for us to create a shared vision for how we can care for the lands, waterways and wildlife we have the privilege to live near. It is a chance for us to connect as a community and build our knowledge and commitment to the place we call home. You can find out more about this project on the Landcare website.

The Active Living Census (ALC)
- The ALC is a region-wide survey conducted by Healthy Loddon Campaspe to gather insights into the health, wellbeing, and daily activities of residents across our region. This data helps us to secure funding and shape programs that support our communities to be healthy, happy, and more inclusive. This is such a unique and exciting opportunity to gather local data to inform the work that we do here in the Macedon Ranges. The survey is open to all residents from the Macedon Ranges, Mt Alexander, Campaspe, Bendigo, Loddon and Central Goldfields.
- Please complete the survey if you are a local resident and please share with your school networks and encourage students and parents to complete the survey www.healthyloddoncampaspe.au/alc. Anyone over 14years can complete the survey and attached is further information for schools and parents!
