SCHS student Selected For Australian Men’s & Mixed Netball Association Under 17 Men’s Team.
A huge congratulations to Finn Dawson, who has been selected by the Australian Men's & Mixed Netball Associaton for their Under 17 Men’s Team. Finn's invitation to attend the selection camp came from his performance at the ‘Australian Nationals Championships’ while playing for home state of Victoria.
The tour to New Zealand is for the Pacific Horizon Cup Series which is the first ever dedicated series for the Men’s 17/ under age group between the two nations. We are incredibly proud to see Finn representing Australia on the international stage and wish him all the best for the tournament!
SCHS Wins in Keilor Downs Northern Star Chess Tournament
Suzanne Cory has done it again with a brilliant victory against 5 other schools at the Keilor Downs Northern Star Chess Tournament! Players faced off against Keilor Downs, Australian International Academy, Alice Miller College, St Helena Secondary College and Overnewton Anglican Community College on the 14th of May, competing to win the second tournament of the year.
Congratulations to:
- Daniel Vu, our Player Development Coordinator, who won Star of the Tournament with 6.5/7 points and came 1st overall
- Simran Singh, the President of the Chess Program who earnt the Year 11/12 gold medal with 6.5/7 points as well and came 2nd overall
- Wyn Li, who achieved the Girls gold medal with 6/7 points and came 4th overall
- Kevin Sun, Vice President of the Chess Program, who achieved Year 11/12 Bronze with 5.5/7 points whilst also coming 5th overall
- Micah Lim, who also received Year 11/12 Bronze with 5.5/7 points, coming 7th overall
It was amazing to see Suzanne Cory come out on top once again, and congratulations to everyone who represented the school. A special thanks also goes to our staff and parents for supporting the team.
The next tournament in Term 3 will be held at Suzanne Cory itself, giving our players one last opportunity to qualify for the Regional Finals later this year. Good luck to everyone competing in the Suzanne Cory Northern Star Chess Zonal Tournament!
Inter Boys Netball Goes to Regionals
Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys Netball Team on their outstanding performance at the recent interschool competition. The boys displayed excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day, competing strongly against a number of talented teams.
Their hard work and commitment paid off as they secured a place at the regional competition. The team represented our school with pride, demonstrating resilience and skill in every match.
We are incredibly proud of their achievement and wish them all the best as they prepare to compete at regionals.
