Humanities Week

Humanities Week provided students with a range of engaging opportunities to develop their critical thinking, communication and analytical skills while exploring the diverse world of humanities.
The week began with a Mock Trial: The Case of the Missing Labubu, where students took on the roles of lawyers, witnesses and jurors to investigate the mysterious disappearance. Through presenting evidence, questioning witnesses and delivering arguments, students experienced the legal process firsthand while sharpening their advocacy and reasoning skills.
Students then put their estimation and decision-making abilities to the test in a spirited game of The Price is Right. The activity brought plenty of excitement and friendly competition as participants worked to determine the value of a range of items, demonstrating that humanities skills can be applied in unexpected and entertaining ways.
The week concluded with a special alumni panel featuring Karmil Nguyen, Adviser to the Federal Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities, and Taha Kamran, who is currently pursuing a career in law as a paralegal. Returning to Suzanne Cory High School as part of Humanities Week, they shared their academic and professional journeys, highlighting the many opportunities and transferable skills that come from studying humanities subjects.
Their experiences showcased the versatility of humanities pathways and provided valuable insights for students considering their future careers.
A big thank you to our Humanities staff, student organisers and alumni guests for making Humanities Week such a memorable and enriching experience. It was wonderful to see students actively engaging with the many possibilities that humanities can offer. 🌟
