Fun Club
WHATS POPPING SCHS!!!
Have you been spending your lunches sad and miserable with nothing to do?!?!
Lucky for you, the FUNNEST club to ever grace SCHS’s Rothwell area has been bringing the LITTEST weekly events, open for ANYONE to watch and laugh along with!
True to its name, Fun club exists solely to be a place of entertainment for all, so that we can all forget the horrors of academic pressure, one lunch at a time– and the best part?!?! All of our events end in AMAZING prizes for the winners, such as steam giftcards, roblox giftcards, kilograms of chocolate and other well-earned surprises. Since our first event, we’ve amassed over 100 members, who all work together to make SCHS a more enjoyable space for all.
Term two’s been a wild one here at Fun Club. We’ve run so many amazing events with so many amazing people, all to make sure YOU guys are all having fun. Musical chairs, rap battles, veggie eating contests, wig snatching, we’re gonna do it all. Every week is a surprise, new event, new people and of course a new prize (we’re slowly going broke T-T). Who knows what the future holds for us but we can't wait to see you all next term for an even funner Fun Club.
So remember,
3,2,1.. LETS HAVE FUN!!!

Debating Co-curricular
Hello SCHS!!
As we transition into Semester 2, we all take on a new co-curricular for the rest of the year. Throughout these first two terms, the Debating co-curricular was a much-loved and enjoyable experience, which engaged everyone into trying something new or further honing their skills, making learning fun and exciting.
We started off defining the basics of the activity, playing a couple debating games each session to stimulate thinking, and went on to study and practise debating structure. This journey which we all went on, both the students and the Yr 10 co-curricular leaders, enriched all of us with new skills which we will need for the future and everyday life. Our Yr 10s took initiative and created detailed lesson plans which outlined the model and core themes of debating, as well as made the sessions enjoyable and kept a casual atmosphere, catering to all styles of learning to make it enjoyable for everyone.
But of course, none of this would’ve been possible without our dedicated SCHS staff. From the library staff to Ms Nguyen, who organised the co-curricular program, we would all like to thank our hardworking staff who drive this process and ensure that all these fun activities can take place. A special thanks to Ms Favero for being our supervising teacher and supporting us in every situation; your effort means a lot to us.
A huge thanks to my fellow Yr10 leaders who created the lesson plans which made this such a fun experience, and a massive thank you to the students who came into every session with a ready to learn attitude which showcases the values at the heart of our school. All in all, this was a wholesome and engaging experience which created unforgettable memories for everyone.

All The Same Melbourne (ATSM)
Hey SCHS!
You may have heard of a new and upcoming community club…called All The Same Melbourne (ATSM)! ‘All The Same’ is a youth-led, non-profit organisation which aims to support POC (people of colour) communities with empathy and focused action, through work around the globe grounded in compassion and meaningful change. Our club is a branch under this, making us a part of an official organisation.
If you are interested in directly uplifting underprivileged communities of various backgrounds, ATSM is a great place to start making change! Our club is focused on community events to help out POC communities through donation, awareness and discussion.
Our team consists of our awesome club members, as well as members of our Financial Team, Media Team, and Secretary! Shoutout to:
- Nayssa Kapadia and Lakshya Pratti (Finance Managers)
- Maynadi Khaled (Secretary)
- Sia Luhar, Jeshna Das, Adini Weerasinghe, Victoria Choo and the club leaders. (Media Team)
During our club meetings, we focus on discussion around global issues impacting POC communities, including topics which influence our local POC communities as well as looking at a more worldwide lens. Some topics we have discussed include ‘Mental Health and Stigma’ in POC communities, racism in places such as school and the workplace, and intersectionality of prejudice. If you are interested in discussing other topics concerning equality and social issues and justice, these club meetings are a great place to start!
We also host a wide range of events. Recently, we had a bakesale for Africause, which is a nonprofit organisation that is dedicated to holistically supporting African-Australian communities and vulnerable people. With the help of many bakers, sellers, and our team at All The Same, we managed to raise $233.40 for women and children escaping domestic violence and seeking emergency accommodation!
Currently, we are hosting a food donation drive for the ASRC (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre), which supports refugees and asylum seekers by creating a holistic support system, which includes providing food, healthcare and legal services. If you are interested in donating, please donate food that is unopened, not expired and are non-perishable. Also, for a chance to win a gift card!!!!!!!!! please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/SpAU4J22uhKAU33p8
